Numeracy

Numeracy is the element of the National Curriculum least exploited by schools working with Ireland in Schools.

It features significantly in only two schools.

In one school, numeracy was an integral part of a cross-curricular Early Years scheme of work based on the narrative poem 'The Bodach of the Grey Coat'.

The second school provided children with timetables and asked them to work out the cost and length of travel time for different routes within Ireland and between Britain and Ireland.
